The E.ON Wasserkraft Company
Headquartered in Landshut, Germany, E.ON Wasserkraft GmbH has an installed capacity of 2,753 megawatt, making it Germany's largest renewables-based power producer.
Renewables-Based Energy from Germany's No. 1
E.ON Wasserkraft operates more than 130 proprietary and third-party power plants at the Danube, Inn, Isar, Main, Lech, Eder, Diemel, Fulda, Werra, Weser and Leine rivers. Most of the power stations are run-of-river power plants that generate electricity around the clock and are available seven days a week. The power plant portfolio is rounded off by storage and pumped storage power stations, which are capable of feeding electricity into the grid in a matter of seconds. E.ON Wasserkraft's power plants are dispersed from Bavarian alpine upland to the north of Germany.
Including the contingents we are entitled to source from Österreichisch-Bayerische Kraftwerke AG's power plant portfolio, they produce some 10 billion kilowatt hours of electricity every year. This corresponds to the annual consumption of far more than 3 million households.
