Modernizing the Waldeck 1 Pumped Storage Power Plant-Construction of a New Pressurized Duct Power Plant
Site
The new power station will feature a compact design and be built right on the bank of the lower basin, between the trainee workshop and the existing facility's powerhouse. This will allow us to make straight-line connections between the new unit and the existing pressurized pipelines.
The plot of land reserved for the construction project has a usable clearance width of 34.6 meters. The new power plant's duct has a diameter of 17 meters at generator hall level and of about 50 meters at maximum duct depth. The section of the duct located under water consists of a draft tube and a draft duct, referred to as the "gooseneck."
